Empathy
The objective of this research is to investigate how empathy is constructed. The literature displays substantial evidence that empathy is a key component of the therapeutic alliance across theories and that empathy is required in the counselling process.

Creative and innovative therapeutic approach in counselling psychology: insights and principles for practice
Nihinlola Eunice olowe and Olamilekan Tajudeen Adeolu
Abstract
Many counsellors believe creativity and innovation are essential to the counselling process. However, some counsellors automatically assume that they need special training to incorporate creativity and innovation into their practices. The paper presents some creative and innovative therapeutic approaches in counselling psychology. The innovative and creative therapeutic approaches presented in the paper are bibliotherapy, creative therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, experiential therapy, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Guided imagery therapy, Narrative therapy, and Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
This approach would help people navigate challenging life situations, such as the death of a loved one, divorce, natural disasters, school stress, and job loss. A creative and innovative therapeutic approach provides the tools and insights to manage mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Ultimately, counselling psychology empowers people to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. We are optimistic about the day when these approaches will be instrumental in everyday
counseling practice, where they can assist therapists and clients in their collaborative efforts to
reduce suffering and increase thriving.
