Exploring the experiences of counselors working with cliënts from diverse cultural backgrounds

A qualitative study

TAs globalization and migration continue to shape the demographics of many societies, counseling professionals are increasingly called upon to work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Counseling is often predicated on the assumption of shared cultural norms and
values, but these assumptions may not hold true for clients who come from different cultures, languages, or worldviews. This presents a unique set of challenges for counselors, who must strive to develop cultural competence and sensitivity in order to provide effective counseling services.
